SFU Team Up's 2nd Annual ‘Comedy for a Cause’ Presented by The Destination slope and surf outfitters will take place this year at the SFU Theatre on Wednesday January 22nd with event proceeds supporting the BC Special Olympics!
Last year this event was a great success as we enjoyed a night of laughter while also fundraising over $2000! This year were outdoing ourselves…With the show we have planned, our goal is $10,000!!
Why Special Olympics?
The BC Special Olympics allows athletes with intellectual disabilities opportunities to enrich their lives and celebrate personal achievement through positive sport experiences. As SFU student-athletes we love our sports!! Our goal is to help Special Olympics athletes experience joy and acceptance, cultivate friendships and self-confidence and feel empowered to overcome their obstacles and achieve their goals just as participating in sports at SFU has allowed us!

Returning from a tour of Britain we’ve got Byron Bertram. Byron’s list of credits is endless but we’ll name a few just for fun. He’s done the Edinburgh Fringe more than once; he’s toured internationally including Australia and the United States. He’s worked with Zack Galifinakis and Jamie Kennedy to name drop just a few, and on television you may have seen him play such diverse roles as a prison guard on Alcatraz, to the notoriously funny infamous whiny husband "Pam can you call my mom?" on the NyQuil Commercial. www.byronbertram.com

Bibake is currently a member of the SFU Varsity Football Team, and though he boasts excellent athletic ability, it will be his humor that will be on display at our event. Though Bibake's sense of humor is 2nd to a few in the locker room, he's the only one we could rope into doing this, so give him a hand!
